Blue Rock Sportsmans Club
History of Blue Rock Sportsmans Club
Blue Rock was originally established on the Little Rock Air Force Base in the early seventies. While there the club had to be managed by military personnel. In nineteen seventy seven, the club was moved to what is now the Brushy Island Landfill between North Little Rock and Jacksonville. The club had many activities there and began to grow and picked up many new members. In nineteen eighty seven the club was again required to relocate as the landfill company was expanding and the surveying for the future north belt freeway had been proposed. This relocation was to an abandoned skeet club at the North Little Rock Airport. The club remained at the airport until nineteen ninety when it was again required to move as a result of airport expansion. The groundwork soon began at the present location and in the fall of that year the club began operation at the present location. The club started with four skeet fields and has expanded to seven fields. As the club has grown, three trap fields and a sporting clays facility have been added.
